Yarns of Summer – Classic Elite Yarns Firefly

Another favorite today!  Today’s summer yarn feature is Classic Elite Yarns Firefly.  This sport weight yarn is a 75% Viscose (rayon), 25% Linen blend.  Remember when I mentioned Linen yarns can be difficult to work with and hard on your hands?  This one isn’t at all either!  The higher Viscose content makes it a softer yarn, and easy on the hands, while still having that Linen look to it.  There is even a bit of shine with this yarn, making it great for something a little dressy.  I also love the slight thick/thin quality of this yarn.

We have great colors available in Firefly.  Everything from fun summer brights to great classic neutrals.

Right now, I have some Firefly on the needles in the form of the Radian Yoke top that was in Knitscene a couple of years ago.  I had been keeping that pattern in my queue, and once I got my hands on this yarn, I knew it was time to make it up!  The piece is knitting up great with lots of drape.  I’m excited to wear it at the end of the summer, and I think it will transition into the Fall really well, too!ClassicElite_Firefly_Yarn-2Needing some inspiration for this yarn?  We have two booklets here in the shop featuring Firefly in sweaters, wraps & more.  Come by Stitch Space anytime to get your summer knitting fix!

See you next week with more Yarns of Summer!
